THE FARMER’S TABLE BEGAN WITH A DREAM AND A FAMILY

  • The house on 1079 S School was built in 1933, which makes it almost 100 years old. It started as a home for a family back when Fayetteville was less than 8,000 people. As the town grew around this beautiful building, the house stayed, a pillar of the south side.

It was an abandoned property for some time in between those years. We call this the house’s punk phase, where it hosted trap concerts in the basement and wild punk shows at its heart. Graffiti abounded, alcohol flowed, and the house served a new purpose: a place of freedom from the rest of the world.

Then came 2005, when Brick House Kitchen bought the building, bringing it from abandoned to restaurant. Imagine the amount of work it would have taken to bring the house to restaurant standard! Once again, scents of comfort food and sounds of laughter echoed off the walls. The house became a place of service, of innovation for food. But nothing can last forever—Brick House Kitchen closed eventually, moving on to bigger and better things.

    Then came 2014.

  • Rob and Adrienne Shaunfield discovered this house in 2014 and knew. It was time to turn it into a new kind of home.

A HOME WHERE ALL PEOPLE ARE WELCOME

A HOME WHERE WE SHARE LIKE FAMILY.

A HOME WHERE WE EAT LIKE, WELL… FARMERS.

The mission of The Farmer’s Table was to prove that restaurants can be operated from LOCAL goods and farmers. Adrienne and Rob believed that business didn’t require convenience; that a profit can be made without sacrificing ethics. With Rob’s background in the restaurant industry and Adrienne’s passion for local, sustainable farming, The Farmer’s Table was born.

NOW, WE BRING YOU COLORFUL COMFORT WITH VIBRANT FLAVOR.

Ten years of believing in our community go into every recipe and dish. Our onsite garden, full bar, and restaurant-grade kitchen bring you modern, Arkansas-centered comfort food with Southern style from our favorite farmers.

  • Rob and Adrienne started the core of this table. Their love for Fayetteville’s soul and tradition attracted folks like moths to a flame, and their table grew.

Rob continues to lead the Farmer’s Table after 10 incredible years of success. All hearts at the cafe broke when, in 2021, Adrienne passed away from INFO cancer. Her loss is felt in every aspect of the word, and yet, she lives on in her loving family and the food, staff, and culture of our table. And, in you.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US CONTINUE HER STORY.

The Farmer’s Table is one of the best ways we have to honor her. If Adrienne or her table has touched your life, you can donate to the restaurant or iNFO charity.

    MORE ON ADRIENNE:

    • Adrienne had a vision for Fayetteville. As part of the local farmer’s market, Adrienne saw firsthand the abundance of food waste and unused/unpurchasable merchandise.

    • Together with other passionate community members, Adrienne founded Feed Fayetteville. This food recovery organization collected this waste to fight hunger and share excess with all.

    • To this day, the Farmer’s Table offers a limited menu of complementary goods to the unhoused members of our area, and participates in a variety of food waste eliminating funds.

    • Without Adrienne, it would have been impossible to put over $3 MILLION back into the NWA community through local farmers and producers in the last 10 years, plus so much more through Feed Fayetteville.
